"How to start, which strategy pick, buy a brand new or second-hand car, or maybe rent it, how to sign up to a rally, how to profit?" - this kind of questions are asked by many new gamers... That is why we brought up a special, short "TopRally signpost" for all the new players.
TopRally.net is an Internet rally manager, made by people committed to motorsport. Game is played in real time and is not so easy, that you can register and instantly play it well. It is hard, and many weeks will pass before you know it better, that âs why it is so addicting.
Rules and FAQ
This should be your fist step in TopRally. Rules are very long, that's true! But they also contain many important information which will help you to understand the way this game works. Experienced players know, that rules should be read at least several times. You should also read questions and answers in TopRally FAQ.
What do you get as a new TopRally player
Every new player is given 550k TR (which is TopRally currency). This starting money must be enough for your first rally and crew's salary. Remember, to start in a rally you need to have two competitors and a car which you will need to buy or rent. It is a good idea to leave some money for future repairs and possibly for upgrades of your car.
Apart from the money on the start you have two randomly picked up team members. You have to decide which one put on which seat - who will be your driver/co-driver. If for whatever reason random drivers wouldn't fit you - sell them or if you are cruel enough, fire them ;-) . Replacement for sold/fired drivers can be found on auctions made by other players - it's a big chance there's a bargain somewhere, just stay patient and don't be afraid to bid!
Office, finances, league, forum...
Before starting the game, make sure you checked information showed in your office. League status, finance reports and driver/co-driver skills. All of this can be found in Office submenus. Country forum topics are also important to read - don't forget about it!
How to get a car?
If you are rich enough you can buy a new car in a Car dealer. However new cars are only basic (all components on MINI level), so spending all the money on a new machine is not a good idea! You can search for a second-handed car on auctions, which is much wiser choice as you can often find a great deal - saving money and time on car development (you can upgrade only one part per week). There is also third option - renting a car - but only for a league rally.
Competition and entering into a rally
In the begging, your team would compete against rivals in lowest league of your home country. To advance, you need to score more points than 35 of your league rivals. Information about closest league rally is in the office. Look carefully at rally surface, weather, difficulty level (higher difficulty level means there are more corners on the stage), set properly your car and choose appropriate tactics. It is highly possible, that you do not have experienced crew so try to set them to drive safely or at own speed. Investing money into your drivers is better than into cars. Inexperienced crew + fast car = huge problems (crashes, smashes, massive loads of money spent on repairing the car, and eventually - bankruptcy). If unfortunately you haven't finished a couple of rallies - don't psych out, but think what you may have done wrong and fix it, or ask some of the more experienced players for help - it's free and with a lot of helpful people round here you would surely get answer to every question! :-)
Remember about the training
Your crews are being trained by starting in rallies or on variety of psychological sessions. To successfully train a driver/co-driver you have to start in more than one league rally per week! Many players start additionally in one or two rallies which are being done every day in different countries and leagues - try to find them! Of course there is also a possibility to train on Test SS - it gives a great knowledge of how to set a car in different conditions (weather, surface), on the other hand, it's very costly. There is one simple rule on training - the younger driver is - the better results of training would he get. Remember to set a training rally accordingly to your training strategy set for particular week. Training is summed up every Friday night.
Finances
Despite complexity of TopRally there aren't many ways to earn money here:
- weekly sponsors payout (which is calculated on driver/co-driver character and amount of rallies driven in the week)
- prizes for a place in a rally (in different classifications)
- prize from the sponsor on the end of a season
- competitor/car trading money
- contracts with a sponsor.

In the end
In TopRally you will not win immediately! If you will win some rallies in first season of playing - call yourself a lucky man! :-) There are many right ways to succeed in this game - the choice is yours. One thing is for sure - the more patience you have, the better your results would be.
